The Literature, Publishing & Translation Commission successfully concluded the third edition of the Madinah Book Fair, held from July 30 to August 5 at the King Salman International Convention and Exhibition Center.
The event welcomed participation from over 300 publishing houses and agencies—local, regional, and international—spread across more than 200 booths. It attracted approximately 170,000 visitors from within and beyond the Madinah region, marking a 22% increase compared to the previous edition.
Coinciding with the summer school holidays, the fair witnessed a significant turnout, especially from students, families, and book enthusiasts. The fair offered a rich and diverse cultural program and showcased the latest literary, academic, scientific, and Islamic publications.
The 2024 edition reflected the Commission’s renewed vision and distinctive identity, aligned with the latest advancements in the publishing industry. Building on the success of its previous editions, the fair reaffirmed Madinah’s cultural significance within the Saudi cultural landscape.
The event forms part of the strategic “Book Fairs” initiative, which aims to empower the publishing sector, promote cultural and intellectual awareness, enhance quality of life, and contribute to national economic growth—all in line with the goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 National Culture Strategy.
